21 APR THE PRINCIPAL OF LGIHE PRESENTS A PAPER AT UGANDA’S 1ST NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON LEARNING OUTCOMES
On Wednesday 12th to 13th April 2017, Kyambogo University in partnership with Curriculum Assessment and Certification Systems Architects (CACSA) and UWEZO hosted the first national conference on learning outcomes. The theme of the conference was dubbed “Learning Outcomes: The measure of progress for Uganda’s Education”.
The Principal of Luigi Giussani Institute of Higher Education (LGIHE), John Mary Vianney Mitana, was among the key contributors in the world of academia. He presented a paper ‘The Measurement and Assessment of Soft-skills: A precursor of a Demand-Driven Education in Uganda’ that explored the level of demand for soft-skills on the labor market in Uganda.
Mr. Mitana’s findings from this paper highlighted, ‘soft skills are a key requirement in determining an employee’s success in getting a job or advancing in promotional ladders on the job.’
